Hello athlets,

we regret to inform you that we are forced to cancel the Monschau-Whitewater-Competition 2018.

The head of the Perlbach-barrage (where we get our additional water) informed us that there is a very thick icelayer and a low waterlevel.

A change of weather with warm temperatures in Monschau is not expected.

Additional water for the competition is not possible, because there is danger that the barrage would be damaged if the water flows in spite of the icelayer.

During 62 years of the Monschau Competition there was never such a situation.

We are sad and we regret that we cannot prevent to cancel but we hope to help everyone with this early information.

We would like to thank Serge Guban from Belgium, who visited Monschau yesterday and send photos.
